  • Critique Workshop July 19

    The next IBWALA Pasadena workshop will held be from 1-4pm on Saturday, July 19 at the San Rafael Branch of the Pasadena Library, 1240 Nithsdale Road (on the corner at Avenue 64) in southwest Pasadena.

    Novels, poems, short stories, screenplays and stage plays, and other works in progress will be read and discussed. Manuscripts may be up to 20 pages, typed and double-spaced. Bring as many as three to five copies to share at the workshop. Participants may also submit to others in advance via e-mail. Works will be presented in the order received. That means first come, first serve! Paid-up IBWALA members reserve priority. The roundtable waits. Hope to see you there.

  • UCLA Writers Faire Sept. 7

    The UCLA Writers Faire is a free, open-to-the-public event with a centerpiece of 24 mini-lectures and panels taught by Writers’ Program instructors in celebration of writing, writers, and people’s aspirations to write. The Faire takes place on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 11:00 am to 3 pm in the Young Hall Courtyard on the UCLA Campus. For more information, go to www.uclaextension.edu/writers

    In honor of the release of IBWALA's N-Word CD, we are hosting a special Sunday Literary Salon June 21 from 1 to 3pm featuring performance, panel, discussion and refreshments at the Lucy Florence Coffeehouse located at 3351 W. 43rd Street in Los Angeles, 90008.
